The General Curia
From the beginning, Pius XI College, which was originally meant for the use of Carmelite students from the Irish Province, was used instead by the students of the Italian Province (from 1932 to 1948), by the Dominican Fathers (who rented the premises during the years 1948 - 1960) and again by the students of the Italian Province (1960 - 1966). In 1966 the General Curia of the Order moved into the building.
At present the community of the General Curia is made up of twelve religious from various Carmelite Provinces and representing ten countries.
