Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm.

Young Carmelites: sowers of mercy

Dear young Carmelites, from all over the world, who are taking part in this World Youth Day in Krakow, welcome! Make the best of these days of praying, sharing with others and enjoying faith.

In addition to being a wonderful city for its art and beauty, Krakow is a place that has very close links with our Carmelite history. At the shrine of “Our Lady of the Sands” (Na Piasku) that was in the care of Carmelites

Dear Brothers,

I   wish to present you with a new edition of the 2000 Ratio Institutionis (RIVC). I say “new edition” in that following a request made to provincials and formators in 2009, many responded indicating that few changes needed to be made. Having considered the positive recommendations and suggestions made by the members of the Order, a number of experts were asked to

Letter of the Prior General on the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2016

Dear brothers and sisters in Carmel,

As we do every year, we get ready to celebrate the feasts in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, our Mother and Sister as we like to call her among Carmelites, following the ancient tradition that comes down to us from the Middle Ages. First of all, I want to offer you my best wishes for the feast.

May God be blessed forever, He who waited for me so long!

As Carmelites We live our life of allegiance to Jesus Christ and to serve Him faithfully with a pure heart and a clear conscience through a commitment to seek the face of the living God (the contemplative dimension of life), through prayer, through fraternity, and through service (diakonia). These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven.

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
