Friday of the fifth week of Lent

These fraternal values find expression and nourishment in the Word, - in the Eucharist, - and in prayer. Carmelite Constitution 20

"Lord, I kneel before you in my sinfulness, I repent of my wrongdoing and with Your help will try to avoid all ocassions of sin. Your forgiveness cleanses me, washes me anew, so that I now shine out as a child of grace. Help me in my weakness, keep me strong and faithful to Your ways, Lord. Like Saint David help me to wear the shield of Your protection"

As Carmelites We live our life of allegiance to Jesus Christ and to serve Him faithfully with a pure heart and a clear conscience through a commitment to seek the face of the living God (the contemplative dimension of life), through prayer, through fraternity, and through service (diakonia). These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven.

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
