The Final Result of the Collection for the Wadi es-Siah

As we reported (citoc-online 45/2014) the General Council of the Carmelites and the General Definitory of the Discalced Carmelites decided to call for a special collection in the their respective communities on the 12th of October, 2014, to support the restoration and conservation of the ruins of the first Carmelite foundation on Mount Carmel in Israel.

Activities of the Prior General

From the 12th to  the 16th of January, the Prior General, Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., presided at the assembly of the Titus Brandsma General Delegation of Colombia which was held in Bogotá. In addition, he visited the new community of Manizales and the Carmelite Family in Medellín. His stay in Colombia also allowed him to visit the formation community of the Italian province in Bogotá.

A Meeting of the Leaders and the Bursars of the Americas


From the 9th to the 13th of February, 2015, the Provincials, Commissaries, Bursars and Delegates of the Americas met in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The meeting was led by Raul Maravi, O.Carm. Councillor General, and Carl Markelz, O.Carm. Bursar General.

As Carmelites We live our life of allegiance to Jesus Christ and to serve Him faithfully with a pure heart and a clear conscience through a commitment to seek the face of the living God (the contemplative dimension of life), through prayer, through fraternity, and through service (diakonia). These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven. 

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
