Edizioni Carmelitane have just published the work entitled “La Chiesa Sposa” (The Church Bride) by Sister Mihaela Catana, a Carmelite nun of the monastery of Carpineto Romano. The sub-title, “Passione e visione per una ecclesiologia rinnovata in S. Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi” (Passion and Vision for a New Ecclesiology in St. Mary Magdalen de'Pazzi) gives a sense of the direction of the work. In the preface, Fr. Bruno Secondin writes: “Here we have a first exploration of the great ocean that is the ecclesiology of the Florentine mystic. Others before her (Sr. Mihaela) looked into the ecclesial pathways and multiple threads of her passion for the "Church Bride". She worked well with all of these, offering us a synthesis of the work that had been done before (...) and likewise offering us both a readible synthesis and a clear and useful overview".

This is not the first work on the Florentine saint to be published by Edizioni Carmelitane. Here are other titles that may be found in the catalogue: LUCA DI GIROLAMO, Santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi: esistenza e teologia, 2010; CHARLÒ CAMILLERI, Union with God as Transformation in Beauty. A Literary-Spiritual Analysis of the Colloquies of Santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi (1566-1607), 2008; BRUNO SECONDIN, Santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi: esperienza e dottrina, (seconda edizione) 2007; CLAUDIO CATENA, Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi, Carmelitana: Orientamenti spirituali e ambiente in cui visse, 1966; LUDOVICO SAGGI , Summarium actionum, virtutum et miraculorum servae Dei Mariae Magdalenae de Pazzis Ordinis Carmelitarum ex processu remissoriali desumptorum, 1965.
