In response to the General Chapter of 2013, the Order’s commission for evangelization and mission at its September meeting began to work on a project that might engage the whole Carmelite Family. On the 30th March 2015 a letter from this commission, together with a short booklet in the three official languages of the Order (Italian, Spanish, English), was circulated to all provincials, superiors general and affiliated groups. This letter expressed the desire of the commission to engage in a conversation with the whole Carmelite Family on evangelization and mission. There are seven short reflections with an overall theme “To be a Carmelite today: A joy ever new, a joy to be shared.” Each section has quotations from Evangelii Gaudium of Pope Francis, the final message of the General Chapter and an invitation to reflection and prayer. The letter and the booklet can be downloaded from the Order’s website
http://ocarm.org/en/content/ocarm/letter-commission-evangelization-and-mission
