The Carmelite Order mourns the death of former Prior General, Fr. Falco Thuis, O.Carm.

Fr. Falco Thuis, O.Carm. the former Prior General, died this afternoon, the 4th of January in Boxmeer, The Netherlands.

Fr. Falco was born on the 5th of march 1932 in Gaanderen, The Netherlands. At the end of his novitiate he made his simple profession on the 15th of September, 1952. He made his solemn profession on the 15th of September, 1955. He was ordained a priest on the 6th of July, 1958. At the General Chapter 1971, he was elected Prior General of the Order, and was re-elected to this office in 1977. We will remember Fr. Falco for the way he helped us to know and appreciate that we are brothers and sisters in Carmel. At the end of his time as Prior General, Fr. Falco returned to the Netherlands where he was Prior Provincial from 1991 to 1996. We remember him with great affection and gratitude and will pray for his eternal repose. May he rest in peace.
