The presence of Carmelite women on American soil began as early as 1651 in the city of San Juan Bautista, Puerto Rico with some nuns from the city of Hispalis, Spain. The monastery was transferred in 1903 to the city of St. German and then in 1971 it moved to the city of Trujillo Alto. In the United States the first foundation was in the city of Allentown in 1931.
After these two foundations followed the foundations in other countries and cities such as Jaboticabal (Brazil) in 1948, Wahpeton (United States) in 1954, Hudson (United States) in 1963, Camaná (Peru) in 1966, la Vega (Dominican Republic) in 1976, Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) in 1983, Polamar on Margherita Island (Venezuela) in 1983, Mayagüez (Puerto Rico) in 1985, Christoval (United States) in 1988, Paranavaí (Brazil) in 1991, Monción (Dominican Republic) in 1994, Santiago de los Caballeros (Dominican Republic) in 1962 which was previously in the city San José de las Matas in 1951, Triunfo (Brazil) in 2009, Barinas (Venezuela ) in 2014, Azua (Dominican Republic) in 2014, São João del-Rei (Brazil) in 2017.
